What Does this sputum Test Result Mean?

Hello. I hope you can help me. What does my Sputum test results mean?

Result 1:
Epithelial cells - moderate
Pus cells - few
No acid fast bacilli seen

Result 2:
Epithelial cells - few
Pus cells - occassional
No acid fast bacilli seen

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The intepretation of sputum analysis is as follows:
The first report shows presence of epithelial cells and pus cells. There is absence of acid fast bacilli also.
Acid fast bacilli are causative agents for tuberculosis.
The second report shows presence of epithelial cells, pus cells and also acid fast bacilli.
Usually three samples are examined for acid fast bacilli.
Presence of acid fast bacilli is indicative of infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, causative agent of tuberculosis.
I suggest you to consult your physician with your reports for further management.
